Vijay Sethupathi secures Tamil remake rights of his Telugu film Uppena

The makers of Vijay Sethupathi's second Telugu film, Uppena, unveiled the actor's look on April 1. The poster became an instant hit among fans and was widely shared on social media.

According to the latest reports, Vijay Sethupathi, who plays the antagonist in the film, has secured its Tamil remake rights. Sources say that the actor was quite impressed with the output and felt that the script will suit the sensibilities of the Tamil audience.

We also hear that the actor will reprise his role in the Tamil version and pre-production works have already begun. An official announcement regarding the cast and crew will be made soon.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the film went on floors in early 2019. The shooting of this film has been wrapped up and it is currently in post-production. Megastar Chiranjeevi’s nephew and Sai Dharam Tej’s younger brother, Panja Vaisshnav Tej will be seen playing the protagonist in the film.

Bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, the film is touted to be a rural entertainer. Debutante Krithi Shetty will play Panja Vaishnav's romantic interest in the flick.

Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi is also awaiting the release of Master, which has Vijay in the lead role. The film was supposed to hit the screens on April 9.

He is also working on his Bollywood debut Laal Singh Chaddha, the Hindi remake of hit Hollywood flick, Forest Gump. The film features Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Sona Singh in the lead roles.
