Vijay questioned by Income-Tax officials
Actor Vijay is currently shooting for his upcoming film Master in the famous Neyveli coal mines along with Vijay Sethupathi. But, the shooting of Master has been interrupted as Income-Tax officials are questioning Vijay regarding tax evasion.
Reports suggest that the Mersal actor is being questioned in connection with the raids that are taking place in AGS cinemas on suspicion of tax evasion. For the uninitiated, AGS Entertainments produced Vijay's Bigil, which is said to have grossed more than Rs 300 crore worldwide.
It is said that the Income-Tax officials are conducting the raids at the properties of AGS Enterprises since today morning (February 5).
During the promotions of Bigil, producer Archana Kalpathi revealed the film's budget as Rs 180 crore. On February 1, she took to Twitter to share a clipping from the 100th-day celebrations of Bigil at AGS Cinemas. She also took to Twitter to thank the entire team of Bigil.
Archana posted, "#Verithanam ana celebrations for #Bigil100days @agscinemas Thank u for all the love #Thalapathy @actorvijay Sir @Atlee_dir @arrahman Sir #Nayanthara and the entire cast and crew of #Bigil (sic)"
India Today reviewer Janani K rated the film 3 out 5 stars and wrote, "Director Atlee always knows the art of playing to the gallery. Almost all of his films are intelligently packaged. So well, that there are elements to satisfy people of all age groups. Bigil belongs to the same type. You get a predictable story, but Atlee, as expected, adds mass elements, emotional scenes and kickass stunt sequences to keep you engrossed in his product."
