UP CM Adityanath unhappy with discrepancies in state coronavirus death figures
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is not happy with the discrepancies in connection with coronavirus-related death figures in the state.
A letter issued by the UP CMO on June 18 said Yogi Adityanath has expressed dissatisfaction over the number of coronavirus deaths reported in the state.
The letter addressed to principal secretary health and principal secretary of the family welfare department by the CMO said: “It has been noticed for the past few days that there is a discrepancy in the actual number of Covid-19 deaths and figures presented before the CM.”
“According to the information issued on 17.06.20, the number of Covid-19 related deaths was 30. However the actual number of deaths was quite less,” it added.
The letter further directed that only real figures should be released on the portal.
The principal of medical colleges, superintendent of government and private hospitals should be given the responsibility of giving correct information regarding the coronavirus deaths.
Meanwhile, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra slammed the Yogi Adityanath government and said that deaths of 28 patients in Agra have occurred in the last 48 hours.
"It is shameful for the government to propagate this false model. Questions were raised on 'no test= no corona policy' of the government but there has been no response. If the government continues to hide the truth and act carelessly then it's going to be dangerous,” she said in a recent tweet.
