Uddhav Thackeray, Fadnavis hug ahead of Maharashra floor test
Ahead of the floor test in the Maharashtra Assembly on Saturday, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray embraced each other in the Assembly.
This comes even after the BJP accused the Uddhav Thackeray-led coalition government of disobeying the Assembly rules.
After a month-long political huddle in the state, Shiv Sena's Uddhav Thackeray was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, thus bringing in the coalition government of Sena, NCP and Congress in the state.
Uddhav Thackeray is also the first Thackeray to have become the chief minister of Maharashtra.
Maharashtra has been witnessing several political ups and downs since the results of the Assembly elections were declared on October 24. On November 12, President's Rule was imposed after the BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP failed to prove majority to stake claim to power. Following this, Devendra Fadnavis was sworn in as the Chief Minister along with NCP's Ajit Pawar as the Deputy Chief Minister on Novermber 23. However, after the Supreme Court ordered a floor test, Ajit Pawar resigned citing personal reasons, and the Fadnavis government tumbled down.
