Twitter Burst out over Photoshopped Image of Cricketer
If you Google Smriti Mandhana, one of the images of the cricketer available on the internet will be quite different from the rest. That is simply because it is photoshopped and Twitter is quite displeased about it. We will explain this in detail.
The peg of this particular concern has been derived from a tweet posted by a Twitter user, Chethana. In her post, the user mentioned that she was looking up Smriti Mandhana online and spotted a photoshopped image of the cricketer. For reference, the user also shared a collage of the original picture and the edited one from a press meet that Smriti attended.
The difference between the two is that in the original image, Smriti has been photographed without make-up. While on the other hand, in the photoshopped picture, Smriti's complexion has been altered to a lighter tone and she is seen wearing kajal and lipstick.
The user expressed severe displeasure about the standards of beauty in her tweet. Read her post:
People saying - "oh she's still beautiful", that's not the point.— chethana (@iamdatemike) 12 November 2019
You're reinforcing what this stupid photoshopped image stands for.
The point of this is to show that even a Google image of an athlete has to be photoshopped to match some arbitrary standard of beauty....
