TV producers and broadcasters discuss re-starting operations with Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray

A delegation of television producers and broadcasters held a video conference with the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray, to identify safe, secluded places where shooting can resume with all health guidelines followed.

The delegation included producers Ekta Kapoor, JD Majethia, NP Singh, Puneet Goenka, Rahul Joshi, Madhavan, Puneet Mishra, Abhishek Rege, Deepak Dhar, Adesh Bandekar, Sanjay Mukherjeei, Vikas Gharelu and Sudhir Naik.

The television producers and broadcasters shared concerns of their business and job losses with the CM. They also discussed the possibility of re-starting operations. The producers reiterated that the nationwide lockdown since March 25 has severely affected the livelihoods of daily wage earners and caused huge losses to the industry.

Ekta Kapoor took to Twitter to share insight into the meeting of the producers with the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Sharing a screenshot of the video call, Ekta wrote, "We had a very positive meeting of broadcasters & television producers with the CM of Maharashtra Shri Uddhav Thackrey (sic)."

Informing about the subject of the meeting, Ekta wrote, "We shared concerns of our businesses and job losses with viewers fatigue of reruns and wishes to start shooting with utmost cares of safety and SOPs. He quickly addressed all issues, asked his team to initiate a committee and workout the possibilities to start work soon (sic)."
