To take Covid vaccine first or last: Donald Trump’s new dilemma

US President Donald Trump recently said that he is ready to take the vaccine novel coronavirus either first or last and that it is an “impossible situation”.

Trump’s dilemma arises from the fact that people may criticize him for taking the vaccine first or last. In a recent report published in Fox News, Donald Trump shared details about his vaccine dilemma.

“If I’m the first one they’ll say ‘he’s so selfish. He wanted to get the vaccine first,” he told Fox News. On the other hand, some people may praise him and say it is a “brave thing to do”.

But Trump told during the interview that he stands to lose either way. In case he takes it first, people may think he is selfish and if he takes it last, people will think the vaccine is not effective, said Trump.

“I would absolutely if they wanted me to and thought it was right, I’d take it first or I’d make it last,” he told the publication.

Trump’s new dilemma comes days after the US placed a Rs 1.95 billion dollar for delivery of 100 million doses of Pfizer and BioNTech’s Covid-19 vaccine in December.

Meanwhile, the coronavirus situation in the United States continues to remain tense as more than 1,000 cases were recorded in the country for the third consecutive day. The US has so far recorded over 40 lakh coronavirus cases and 1.4 lakh COVID-related deaths.
