TN CM EPS accuses DMK for the suicide of 13 students due to NEET

The NEET debate has been going on in the state of Tamil Nadu from the time the competitive exam was introduced. Today, on Day 2 of the state assembly session, CM Edappadi K Palanisamy on the floor of the house accused the DMK of the suicide of 13 students due to NEET. The CM while rebutting to the allegations of the DMK said that NEET was introduced in 2010 when DMK was in alliance with Congress.

EPS questioned in the assembly as to why DMK stopped the Congress from introducing NEET in 2010.

A special attention motion was moved by the DMK in the assembly today on the NEET issue and the deaths associated with it. DMK chief MK Stalin demanded that a resolution be passed in the state against the Centre for not exempting Tamil Nadu from NEET.

Meanwhile, Congress MLAs in the assembly were evicted for creating a ruckus. Congress MLAs reacted to AIADMK MLA Inbadurai's accusation that Congress was having double standards on the NEET issue.

MLA Inba Durai said that P Chidambaram's wife Nalini Chidambaram appeared in the SC in favor of NEET, but Congress was now saying they are against NEET.

NEET 2020 was held on September 13, Sunday, across India and police detained 23 people on the day in Madurai for protesting against the conduction of NEET 2020. Madurai saw a teen kill herself a day before the medical entrance exam due to fear of the exam.
