Ajit Pawar yet to be replaced by Jayant Patil as NCP legislature leader: Maharashtra assembly secretary
Maharashtra assembly Speaker is yet to decide on NCP's letter of replacing Ajit Pawar as the legislature party leader and appoint Jayant Patil in his place. An official of the assembly said while they have received NCP's letter, the decision has to be taken by the Speaker and it is yet to be done.
Maharashtra Legislature Secretary Rajendra Bhagwat said, "The Legislature Secretariat has received a letter claiming that Jayant Patil is the Legislative Party Leader for NCP. But a decision has to be taken by the Speaker. As of today, the decision has not been taken."
This would mean Ajit Pawar continues to enjoy the post of the NCP legislature party leader.
NCP had removed Ajit Pawar from the post on Saturday following his coup within the party when he took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister alongwith Devendra Fadnavis, who took oath as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra for a second term.
