Tamil Nadu records 527 COVID-19 cases today, biggest jump till date
As many as 527 more people have been tested positive for COVID-19 in Tamil Nadu taking the total number of cases in the state to 3,550, State Health Department informed on Monday. A total of 1,409 COVID-19 patients have been cured or discharged in the state while a total of 31 patients have lost their lives due to the virus.
There are a total of 50 functioning COVID -19 testing facilities in Tamil Nadu which includes 36 government and 14 private facilities.
The total number of positive coronavirus cases across the country is now at 42,533, including 29,453 active cases of the virus.
The state's health bulletin specified that a large number of today's cases are linked to the Koyembedu market.
Meanwhile, Union Health Ministry's Joint Secretary Luv Agarwal revealed that the total coronavirus infections in the country stood at 42,533, with 2,053 cases having been reported in the last 24 hours. He revealed that 11,706 persons have been cured of coronavirus till now, which has brought up India's recovery rate to 27.52 per cent.
"Till now, 11,706 people have been cured. In the last 24 hours. One thousand seventy-four (1,074) people have been cured. This is the highest number in terms of cured patients noted till date," Agarwal noted.
