Lockdown extended in Tamil Nadu till April 30
Taking a cue from as many as 11 states, Tamil Nadu on Monday decided to extend the statewide lockdown in a bid to prevent further spread of the novel coronavirus. Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami made the announcement in this regard on April 13. At present, Tamil Nadu has the second-highest number of confirmed Covid-19 cases.
According to the order by the Tamil Nadu government, lockdown in the state stands extended till April 30. This essentially translates to the fact that section 144 of the CrPC will remain in effect in all of the state's 37 districts till the end of this month.
