Tamil Nadu Board Exams 2020: Class 10 and 12 results to be out in July, confirms minister
Uncertainty has been on the rise in the education sector since the nationwide lockdown has been imposed across the country, in view of the coronavirus outbreak. To put the minds of the students in Tamil Nadu at ease, the state education minister recently made an announcement. The results of class 10 and 12 board exams would be declared in July, Tamil Nadu School Education Minister K A Sengottaiyan said on Saturday.
Recently, the Tamil Nadu board also made the announcement of conducting the class 10 board exams for all the pending subjects in June. After the board exams are conducted with ease, the state will start the evaluation process and release the result potentially by July.
Class 10 exams from June 15
The tenth standard board exams will be held from June 15 to 25 for over 9.5 lakh candidates, as per the revised schedule announced by the government. The exams have been postponed due to increase in COVID-19 cases in the state. Earlier, the exams were scheduled from June 1-12.
In view of coronavirus outbreak, the Minister said the reopening date of schools could not be disclosed now and the government would take a decision based on the recommendations made by a committee formed by it to look into the matter. Earlier, the Minister distributed various cooperative bank loans.
The fourth phase of the coronavirus lockdown is supposed to be over on May 31 and educational institutes are to be remained closed till then. Schools and colleges will make plans of resuming classes after the lockdown is lifted.
