Sushant Singh Rajput death case: What next for Rhea Chakraborty
After Sushant Singh Rajput's father, KK Singh, filed a complaint against Rhea Chakraborty and her family members, the actress may file for an anticipatory bail now. She met her lawyer Satish Manshinde on Tuesday evening. In his FIR, Sushant's father accused Rhea and her family of abetment to suicide, cheating, criminal conspiracy and other offences.
Rhea Chakraborty was questioned by Mumbai Police on Tuesday night. Patna police will also question the actress in connection with the case. Tuesday night, Rhea discussed the legal options available to her with her lawyers. They prepared the draft and documents have been signed by the actress. Her lawyers may appeal for an anticipatory bail at a Mumbai sessions court today.
The FIR registered by Patna police on Tuesday is the first FIR filed in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. Earlier, Mumbai Police had only registered an ADR (Accidental Death Report) on June 14. Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide on the morning of June 14.
In his complaint, Sushant Singh Rajput's father claimed that he has proof that a large sum of money was withdrawn from his son’s bank account. He also alleged that crores of rupees were withdrawn from Sushant's bank account. Rhea was handling Sushant's bank account. In this regard, the police have filed an FIR under sections 341, 342, 380, 406, 420, 306 and 120 (B) of the IPC.
Sushant's father, KK Singh, said, "Rhea, who was living with Sushant, left his home. She took some cash, jewellery, laptop, credit card, and Sushant's medical prescriptions along with her. Rhea blocked his number, after which Sushant called his sister and said that Rhea might cause harm to him. He informed his sister that Rhea threatened him with revealing his medical prescriptions to the media, after which no one was going to give him work."
A four-member team of Patna police reached Mumbai on Tuesday to question Rhea Chakraborty and her family members in connection with the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. Bihar Police will today record Sushant's sister Meetu Singh's statement.
