SP Balasubrahmanyam health update: Singer tests negative for coronavirus, informs son SP Charan
Singer SP Balasubrahmanyam has tested negative for the novel coronavirus. His son, SP Charan, in a statement, confirmed the same and added that his father is stable in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at MGM Healthcare hospital in Chennai. SP Balasubrahmanyam got admitted to the hospital on August 5 after testing positive for the novel coronavirus. His health condition deteriorated on the night of August 13 and was put on life support.
His son, SP Charan issued a statement today (August 24), which read, "Thanks for your continuous support and prayers for my father. My father is fine and stable and his Corona test has become negative. Will keep you posted about the updates."
SP Balasubrahmanyam got admitted to the hospital by choice as his family members were concerned. While he remained stable for a week, his condition worsened on August 13. He has been on life support ever since.
Meanwhile, the doctors who treated SP Balasubrahmanyam deemed him critical as he was put on a ventilator and ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) support. However, for the past couple of days, SP Balasubrahmanyam has been stable and on a ventilator. The doctors at MGM Healthcare Hospital are in touch with Indian and international experts to assess his condition.
On August 20, the entire film fraternity including Ilaiyaraaja, Bharathiraja, Saroja Devi, Sarathkumar, Radhika Sarathkumar, and several others participated in a mass prayer meet for SP Balasubrahmanyam's speedy recovery.
Recently, Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu took to Twitter to send his best wishes for singer SP Balasubrahmanyam. Similarly, Megastar Chiranjeevi shared a video in which he spoke about his bond with SPB and his family members.
The entire nation is praying for SP Balasubrahmanyam's speedy recovery. His son, SP Charan, said that he and the doctors are confident of the veteran singer's recovery. Charan further added that it is going to be a slow recovery for his father SP Balasubrahmanyam.
