Sometimes, if we have to stay true, we have to be silent : Vijay speaks out on IT Raid
Thalapathy Vijay is upbeat about his upcoming film, Master, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The audio, composed by Anirudh Ravichander, was launched today amid the cast and crew of the film.
Vijay kickstarted his speech at the Master audio launch with a dance performance along with Shanthanu Bhagyaraj and Anirudh Ravichander. He then moved on to his famous hook line, "En nenjil kudi irukkum... (My dear fans, who reside in my heart)' I am sad that my fans couldn't attend the audio launch. We did this as a private event due to coronavirus. Thank you and I am sorry."
The highlight of the entire event was when he spoke about his contemporary, Ajith. "Like my friend Ajith, I've come dressed in a blazer," he remarked.
Vijay was all praises for his co-star Vijay Sethupathi, who will be seen as an antagonist in the film. Speaking about him, he said, "Vijay Sethupathi has now become a person who cannot be avoided. We have seen many negative characters, but his role in Master will be special. I asked him why he agreed to do the film and he shut me down by saying four words - I really like you."
Vijay also took a jibe at the I-T raid that took place at his house in Chennai last month. When the anchor asked what Vijay would ask his younger self, he answered, "I would want my old life back. It was peaceful...without any raid."
Appreciating director Lokesh Kanagaraj's work, he said, "With Maanagaram, Lokesh made us notice his talent. His next film Kaithi made us watch it again and again. Lokesh has a special talent. Being a banker, he has managed to do a film like Maanagaram, which has a complex script. He won't even have a scene break-up paper in his hand on the set of Master and I was confused seeing this. I wondered how to work with him for the next few months. Later, I realised, Lokesh is not just a planner, but a master-planner."
He also spoke about his other co-stars. "Shanthanu, you're always in my prayer. Malavika has a beautiful face which will work with the Tamil audience. If she learns Tamil, she will grow up to be one of the leading heroines in Kollywood. Andrea always puts in a lot of thought while picking her films and my humble request to her is to do more Tamil films," he added.
Vijay concluded his speech with a punch-line to his haters, "Kill them with your success, bury them with your smile. Sometimes, if we have to stay true, we have to be silent."
