Singer S Janaki clarifies death rumours over a phone call: I am fine, this is the sixth time it's happening
Legendary singer S Janaki fell prey to rumours regarding her death on June 29. Many celebrities including singer SP Balasubrahmanyam and composer Dheena slammed the people who were spreading such unverified news on social media platforms.
A phone conversation of S Janaki with an unknown person is doing the rounds on social media. During the conversation, Janaki said that she is perfectly fine and is tired of answering calls regarding her health.
Janaki said, "I am healthy. I don't know why people are doing this again and again. This is the sixth time it is happening. While I am talking to you, I am receiving another call. Is this fair? I have to spend my energy to console people who are concerned about me and my health. "
The singer added, "My fans are important to me. Some of them are heart patients too. I hope people do not spread such rumours."
On June 29, rumours about S Janaki's death spread like wildfire on social media. Within a few hours, her son Murali Krishna rubbished it as baseless rumours. He revealed that the singer underwent a surgery and is currently recuperating.
Singer SP Balasubrahmanyam, in a video, expressed his anger over the death hoax of S Janaki. He said, "Since morning, I have received more than twenty calls enquiring on the health of Janaki amma. Somebody on social media has said that she is no more. What nonsense is this? I spoke to her and she is doing very well. Please use social media for positivity. Don't make fun of these things. Long live Janaki amma, she is very safe and very healthy (sic)."
