Shashi Tharoor speaks fluent Bangla, requests Bengali migrant workers not to leave Kerala.
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has assured migrant workers from Bengal, living in Kerala, of food and water amid the coronavirus lockdown and requested them to refrain from stepping outside the state. In a 47-second video that he shared on Twitter, Tharoor addressed the workers in Bengali and spoke fluently in the language.
He appealed to the migrant workers to stay put in Kerala instead of heading to West Bengal. Tharoor added that the Kerala government will take care of their essential requirements such as food, water and other supplies.
