Sensex was down 209.75 points
Benchmark indices ended lower on June 29 dragged by the metal, IT, auto and banking names.
At close, the Sensex was down 209.75 points or 0.60% at 34961.52, and the Nifty was down 70.60 points or 0.68% at 10312.40. About 1135 shares have advanced, 1597 shares declined, and 136 shares are unchanged.
Coal India, Axis Bank, Tech Mahindra, Hindalco Industries, and SBI were among major losers on the Nifty, while gainers included HDFC Bank, HUL, Britannia Industries, Cipla and M&M.
Among sectors, except FMCG other indices ended in the red. BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices lost over 1 percent each.
