Rhea Chakraborty not missing, Bihar Police did not send summons to her: Actress's lawyer

Rhea Chakraborty's lawyer today said that Bihar DGP's claim that Rhea is missing, and therefore has been unable for further questioning in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, is not correct. Rhea's lawyer, Satish Manishinde added that her statement has been recorded by Mumbai police. She’s cooperated with police as and when she was called. However, until today, no notice or summons has been received by her from the Bihar police. he further added that the Bihar police has no jurisdiction to investigate the case. Rhea had earlier filed a petition in the Supreme Court requesting the case, filed by Sushant Singh Rajput's father KK Sigh in Patna be transferred to Mumbai. The case is sub-judice.

A day ago, Bihar Police DGP Gupteshwar Pandey had said that they want Rhea Chakraborty, Sushant Singh Rajput's girlfriend, to join the Patna police's investigation in the actor's death case. "We have not questioned Rhea Chakraborty till now but we want her to come and join investigation", Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey had said.

The Bihar DGP also said that so far six people are under scrutiny in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. So far, Patna police have recorded statements of four people - Sushant Singh Rajput's sister, his former girlfriend Ankita Lokhande, a doctor and Sushant's friend Mahesh Shetty.

Meanwhile, Bihar IPS officer Vinay Tiwari, who came to Mumbai on Sunday night to investigate Sushant Singh Rajput death case, has been quarantined by the BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation). BMC officials released a statement on Monday regarding the same that read, "A section of media are reporting that a police officer from Bihar State who has arrived at Goregaon in Mumbai from Bihar, on Sunday (Aug 2, 2020) has been quarantined by BMC authorities. In this regard, the Municipal Administration would like to place the facts as mentioned below. The P/South Administration received information stating that the said officer arrived in SRPF group 8 Guesthouse, Goregaon (East). Being a domestic air traveller, he needs to be guided for home quarantine as per the State Government Guidelines."
