Rhea Chakraborty has 1 flat worth Rs 85 lakh in Khar, Mumbai: Sources
Sources close to the Enforcement Directorate (ED), currently investigating the money-laundering angle in Sushant Singh Rajput death case, are investigating properties in Rhea Chakraborty's name. ED sources claim that Rhea Chakraborty has crores worth of property under her name. However, sources found otherwise. Our sources reveal that Rhea owns only one property on her name, worth Rs 85 lakh in Khar (East), Mumbai. The ED was earlier looking into a property in Khar (East) in Mumbai, in Rhea's name. According to sources, the ED was probing the money trail that happened during the purchase of the said flat, the payments made to the seller and accounts used to make payments. The ED had lodged a money laundering case against Rhea Chakraborty and her family members after Sushant Singh Rajput's family accused her of taking Rs 15 crore from the late actor.
*The value of Khar property is Rs 85 lakh, housing loan on which is around Rs 60 lakh. The builder's name is Shivalik. The total sq ft area of the flat is 550 sq ft. The flat is located in Khar (East), near Khar subway," revealed India Today sources.
According to ED, Rhea has another property in her name. However, the property under ED's scrutiny is on Rhea's father's name, who is a retired defense personnel. "The year of purchase of the property is 2012. Possession happened in 2016. The value of the property is Rs 60 lakh. The total sq ft area is 1130 sq ft. The flat is located in Ulwe, Raigarh district," clarified our source.
As per the Income Tax Return (ITR) records, Rhea Chakraborty's net worth rose in the last few years from Rs 10 lakh to 12 lakh and then Rs 14 lakh. Despite a meagre net worth, Rhea bought two properties in Mumbai. One property is in the name of Rhea and the other is in her family member's name. It is still not clear who paid for Rhea’s property. ED had asked for the property papers and received them today.
The ED has sent a summons to Rhea through email. She has been asked to appear for questioning on Friday (August 7). There has been no response as yet.
