Rajinikanth's film with Lokesh Kanagaraj and Kamal Haasan to commence in August
In January 2020, the industry was abuzz with reports that Superstar Rajinikanth's 169th film will be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by his friend, actor-politician Kamal Haasan, under his home banner Raaj Kamal Films International.
According to the latest reports, the makers have already started the pre-production work and the film is likely to go on floors in the first week of August.
Sources say that Kamal Haasan had earlier planned to launch this project in April, post the release of Lokesh Kanagaraj's Master. However, due to the novel coronavirus outbreak, the team might make the announcement after two months.
We hear that Rajinikanth will work on Siruthai Siva's Annaatthe once the lockdown ends. He has few days of shoot left, as major portions of the film were already shot in Hyderabad.
Though the project is produced by Kamal, it is not sure if he would be sharing screen space with Rajinikanth. The duo was last seen together in Hindi film Gereftaar.
On the other hand, Kamal Haasan is in talks with director Gautham Menon for Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu 2. He also has Thalaivan Irukkindran, a sequel to his Tamil film Thevar Magan, in the pipeline. The project is expected to start by the end of this year.
