Rajasthan to reimpose Section 144 due to spike in Corona Virus cases
The Ashok Gehlot-led Rajasthan government will be reimposing restrictions under Section 144 starting Saturday (November 21) over the rising number of coronavirus cases in the state.
The Gehlot government has given the powers to all district magistrates to bring back the prohibitions under Section 144 across all districts of Rajasthan. The District Magistrate can impose Section 144 for a longer period only after consulting with the state government.
Rajasthan has so far recorded over 2.3 lakh coronavirus cases as of Friday with a death toll of over 2,100.

Centre had on Thursday rushed high-level teams to districts of Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Manipur to support these states’ efforts towards strengthening containment, surveillance, testing, and efficient clinical management of coronavirus positive cases.
On Friday, the total number of coronavirus cases in India mounted to 90,04,365 and the death toll to 1,32,162, with the infection claiming 584 lives in a span of 24 hours.
