Rahul Gandhi urges Gujarat govt to relocate stranded fishermen from Andhra to relief camps
As many as 6,000 fishermen from different villages in Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts of Andhra Pradesh have been stranded in Veraval along Gujarat’s coast with inadequate food supplies, The News Minute reported. These men are also facing the challenge of poor hygiene and sanitation facilities.
With regard to their plight, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday made an appeal to the government to "move my brothers to relief camps" and ensure their well being.
Over 6,000 fishermen from AP, stranded in Gujarat, have been confined to their tiny fishing trawlers for over a month, in unhygienic conditions with limited food & water. I appeal to the Govt to move my brothers to relief camps and ensure their well being.https://t.co/cQ2sBcAR5i— Rahul Gandhi (@RahulGandhi) April 25, 2020
