Rahul Gandhi like a student lacking passion to master the subject: Obama
Former US President Barack Obama has likened Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to a student who does his coursework but lacks the aptitude to master a subject. In his latest book, Barack Obama has written this about Rahul Gandhi: "Rahul Gandhi has a nervous, unformed quality about him, as if he were a student who'd done the coursework and was eager to impress the teacher but deep down lacked either the aptitude or the passion to master the subject." Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh also finds a mention in the book ‘The Promised Land’. Barack Obama apparently found Dr Manmohan Singh "having a kind of impassive integrity". Rahul Gandhi met Obama in 2017 and shared a picture on Twitter.
Manmohan Singh met Barack Obama multiple times and during his tenure as the Prime Minister in the UPA government and had a good working relationship with him after India signed up a nuclear deal with the US. A fellow Democrat, Barack Obama's new book also mentions US President-elect Joe Biden. Obama describes his former vice president and the current US President-elect Biden as a decent man who "might get prickly if he thought he wasn't given his due - a quality that might flare up when dealing with a much younger boss". Referring to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Obama writes that the leader reminds him of the street-smart bosses who used to run Chicago at one point in time.
