Prithviraj to star in India's first virtually shot film: This is an exciting new chapter in filmmaking
Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, on Monday (August 17), announced that he has signed a multilingual film which will be completely shot as a virtual production, a first-of-its-kind in Indian cinema. The Ayyappanum Koshiyum star shared the first-look poster of the untitled flick and revealed that the film will be directed by Gokulraj Baskar. The poster also hints that it will be a period film and will be released in Malayalam, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada. The virtual production technique was earlier incorporated in films like Lion King and Avatar. Prithviraj said that he is looking forward to shoot for this film and it will be a new experience for the entire team. Prithviraj wrote, "This is an exciting new chapter in the art and science of film making! So looking forward to this one! Changing times, newer challenges, innovative methods! And an epic story to tell! Stay tuned for updates! (sic)."

Fans appreciated the actor for bringing in innovative techniques and improving the standard of filmmaking. A few months ago, Prithviraj announced that he will be teaming up with Virus director Aashiq Abu. Tipped to be a period film, it revolves around the life of Variyan Kunnathu Kunjahammed Haji, who established his own parallel government to fight against the British during the 1921 Malabar rebellion.
