Ponmagal Vandhal trailer out: Jyotika fights hard in court for justice

Jyotika's upcoming film, Ponmagal Vandhal, has created a furore even before it could hit the screens. Produced by Suriya's 2D Entertainments, the film, directed by debutant filmmaker JJ Fredrick, will stream on Amazon Prime from May 29 onwards.

Today (May 21), Suriya took to Twitter to release the trailer of Ponmagal Vandhal. Sharing the trailer link, the actor wrote, "Here's Venba’s Journey to Justice...!! #PonmagalVandhal #PonmagalVandhalOnPrime World Premiere on May 29 @PrimeVideoIN (sic)."

The trailer, which runs close to two minutes, traces Venba's (Jyotika) life, who is fighting a child trafficking case in the court. Her job gets difficult as the evidence against the culprits has been fabricated. How Venba secures evidence to get justice to the families of the victims' forms the story.

Ponmagal Vandhal was slated to release in theatres this May. However, due to the nationwide lockdown, the makers decided to go for a direct OTT release. This decision has sparked a huge debate between the multiplex owners, distributors and producers.

Apart from Jyotika, the film stars talented directors and actors K Bhagyaraj, Parthiban, Pandiarajan, Prathap Pothen and Thyagarajan in crucial roles. The technical crew comprises of music director Govind Vasantha, cinematographer Ramji and editor Ruben.
