Ponmagal Vandhal motion poster out: Jyotika's film promises to be an intense courtroom drama
In view of Covid-19 lockdown, the makers of Jyotika's upcoming film, Ponmagal Vandhal, decided to release it directly on OTT platform. The streaming rights of the film, which was supposed to hit the screens on April 27, was secured by Amazon Prime Video.
On Tuesday (May 19) evening, the makers unveiled the motion poster of the film and it has already garnered the attention of the netizens. The poster features Jyotika in a fierce avatar along with veteran actors like K Bhagyaraj, Pratap Pothen, Parthiban and Pandirarajan.
The film promises to be an intense courtroom drama where the protagonist fights for justice. The producer of the film, actor Suriya, took to Twitter to unveil the motion poster and revealed that the trailer of the film will be out on May 21. Suriya wrote, "Delay in Justice is Injustice!! #PonmagalVandhal trailer out on 21st May (sic)."

Jyotika will be seen playing the role of a lawyer for the first time in Ponmagal Vandhal. The film is directed by JJ Fredrick and is all set to release on May 29. It is the first big film in Tamil to directly release on the digital streaming platform.
When the makers of the film initially announced that the film is seeking an OTT release, many theatre owners expressed their concern over their decision. R Panneer Selvam, the general secretary of Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners Association, condemned the actor and said that they have decided to not release any film involving Suriya or his production house.
