Parvathy calls Karan Johar's film on 75 years of Independence yuck

Parvathy took to Instagram stories to express her opinion on Karan Johar's upcoming film on India's Independence. She called the announcement 'yuck' and received a lot of appreciation for boldly expressing her opinion. Parvathy is always known for her bold statements and speaking her mind out on a public platform. She has been at the receiving end of abuse and appreciation for the same. On October 2, Karan Johar put out a statement about his upcoming film, which will celebrate 75 years of Independence. In his tweet, he tagged PM Narendra Modi and stated that this film will have inspiring stories about valor, values, and the culture of India. Parvathy re-shared Karan Johar's tweet on her Instagram stories with the word 'Yuck' stamped on it. Karan Johar announced his project with the caption, "Honourable PM @narendramodi ji...we are humbled & honored to curate stories of our great nation whilst we celebrate 75 years of India’s independence (sic)." He had tagged filmmakers Rajkumar Hirani, Aanand L Rai, Ekta Kapoor, Sajid Nadiadwala, Rohit Shetty, and Dinesh Vijan.

Explaining the concept of this film, Karan Johar, in his statement, wrote, "Celebrating 75 years of Independence by joining hands with 'Change Within', an initiative by film fraternity, to make inspiring content about valor, values and the culture of India. It is our stories that make us who we are, and every corner of our country has an empowering tale to tell Last year we made a special film on the 150th birth year of Mahatma Gandhi, directed by Rajkumar Hirani. Followed by various meaningful initiatives, we have come together to celebrate the spirit of the freedom movement."
