No public exams for Classes 5, 8: TN Govt
The Tamil Nadu government on Tuesday revoked its plan to hold public examinations for Classes 5 and 8 from the current academic year.
The old examination method will continue. An announcement to this effect was made by the school education minister KA Sengottaiyan, an hour after the cabinet meeting in secretariat ended.
The school education department issued an order for the conduct of public exams for the classes on September 13.
“Many representations were received on this order. The state government considered the representations carefully and decided to revoke the government order. The old examination method will continue,” Sengottaiyan said.
