Nizamuddin Markaz chief Maulana Saad absconding, manhunt in UP, Delhi

The Delhi Police has formed different teams to trace the chief of Nizamuddin Markaz, Maulana Saad, who has gone absconding after an FIR was lodged against him.

Delhi Police sources have told that at least two teams are in western UP to trace Mohammed Saad while his close relatives have been questioned by the police to find out his whereabouts. The residences of Saad’s relatives have also been searched.

Another team of Crime Branch is looking for Saad in different mosques and places where he might be hiding. Efforts by the Delhi Police to reach on his mobile phones have also failed and his phone is switched off since the FIR was lodged. In a recent audio clip, Saad was heard claiming that he is in self-isolation.

A technical team of Crime Branch has also started tracing the IP address of the new audio of Saad which was uploaded on Wednesday.

The team of Delhi Police has been asked to prepare a list of Indians who were present at the gathering who left the Markaz before March 24.

Sources said, thousands of Indian nationals apart from 824 foreign nationals attended the gathering of Markaz at Nizamuddin in Delhi before leaving for Chilla activities in different states. The Delhi Police is sharing the details of these individuals with law enforcement agencies of different states so that they can be traced and quarantined.

Police is also in touch with 14 hospitals where people who were inside mosque have been admitted after they were evacuated on Wednesday.
