Nishikant Kamat in hospital with Chronic Liver Disease, critical but stable
In a statement shared with the media, AIG Hospitals, Gachibowli, Hyderabad, confirmed that Nishikant Kamat has been admitted there. Kamat was diagnosed with jaundice and abdominal distention and was brought to the hospital on 31st July. Though his condition is critical, he is in a stable condition now. This statement comes a day after the news of NIshikant Kamat's hospitalization broke on social media. Yesterday (August 11), it was reported that the filmmaker was admitted to a private hospital in Hyderabad and that his condition is critical.

Mr. Nishikant Kamat (50 years, Male) was brought to AIG Hospitals, Gachibowli, Hyderabad on 31st July with jaundice and abdominal distention.
He has been diagnosed with Chronic Liver Disease and other secondary infections.
He is in the intensive care unit for continuous monitoring under the supervision of a multidisciplinary team of senior consultants comprising of Gastroenterologists, Hepatologists, Critical Care, and others.
His condition is critical but stable.
We wish him a speedy recovery.
NIshikant Kamat is best known for films like Drishyam, Madaari, Mumbai Meri Jaan, among others. He has also acted in a few Bollywood films, namely, the John Abraham-starrer Rocky Handsome (2016), Bhavesh Joshi Superhero, Fugay, and Julie 2. But Kamat's directorial debut was with the Marathi film Dombivali Fast in 2005. The film is still regarded as one of the best films in Marathi cinema and had received both commercial and critical acclaim. Dombivali Fast had won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Marathi in 2006. Kamat has also acted in Marathi films like Saatchya Aat Gharat, among others.
