Mumbai gets a new Irrfan to remember the ace actor by: A huge mural in Bandra
A day after Irrfan's demise, the Bollywood Art Project (BAP), an urban public art project, which uses walls of Mumbai to celebrate icons of Hindi cinema, got into action. They paid tribute to the ace actor with a mural at Waroda Road in Bandra.
Interestingly, the mural is only a few hundred meters away from the house of Saajan Fernandes, the character that Irrfan played in Ritesh Batra's acclaimed film, The Lunchbox. The black-and-white mural focuses on the actor’s eyes, which were loved by his fans for conveying emotions with an authentic intensity.
"He was one of my favorite actors," said BAP founder, artist, and communication designer Ranjit Dahiya. "I thought I should pay some tribute to the legend, a true artist."
