Mumbai: Authorities race against time to trace contacts of Covid-19 patients

Authorities have revealed that Dr Bahrainwala, a senior surgeon at the Saifee Hospital in Mumbai succumbed to the Covid-19 infection a little after midnight on Friday at Hinduja Hospital. Dr Bahrainwala tested positive for the novel coronavirus before his death and his grandson has a travel history to UK. It is also being reported that Dr Bahrainwala's son, a cardiac surgeon has also tested positive for the infection.

Similarly, a 65-year-old hawker in Mumbai who tested positive for Covid-19 and died on March 25 had a food stall near Elphinstone station with employees of a nearby corporate park as customers. The chawl she lived in has been sanitised and her close contacts ordered to isolate themselves. Customers who ate at her stall are also being traced.
