The newly formed Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh, will soon be in the forefront of the day.

Mukesh Ambani also said that the Reliance group will set up a special task force focused on making investments in Jammu and Kashmir.

Mukesh Ambani was speaking at the 42nd annual general meeting (AGM) of Reliance Industries Ltd. At the meeting, he also announced the launch of the Jio Fiber service

Mukesh Ambani’s comments came just days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the removal of Article 370, which gave special rights to Jammu and Kashmir, would be a private sector investment in the newly formed Union Territory.

Delivering a special address to the nation last week, PM Modi called on Indian Businesses in Jammu and Kashmir.

PM Modi asked for a look at the film, tourism, food processing and export industries in Jammu and Kashmir.

On August 6, the Center revoked Article 370 of the Constitution, which states that Jammu and Kashmir had a special status with its own flag, laws and rights.

The government also said it was separating the state of Jammu and Kashmir into two Union Territories – Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.

Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram on Saturday attacked the government over the alleged decline in the population of indigenous cattle, saying the government’s love for cow is only on paper. The former finance minister also hit out at the government over what he said was an “acute” job crisis.

In a tweet posted by his family on his behalf, Chidambaram, who is currently in the custody of the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case, put out two economic indicators for people to draw their own conclusions.

“Over 50% of those asked said that the employment situation is presently worse. Over 30% said it will worsen. Meaning, the job crisis is acute,” he said, posting the first economic indicator.

“Population of indigenous cattle declined by 6% between 2012 and 2019. Meaning, the government’s love for the cow is only on paper. It does not translate into increased productivity or fertility,” he added.

Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel, who was sentenced to six months in prison, was granted bail in the 2015 rioting case on a bond of Rs 10,000. All the accused in the case, including the AAP MLA’s son, too, have been granted bail in connection with forcefully entering and raiding the house of a realtor in Vivek Vihar in Delhi in 2015, a day before the assembly elections.

Earlier, a Delhi court had sentenced the Delhi Assembly speaker and five others to six months in prison for “rioting and causing hurt” at the house of the local builder, Manish Ghai.

Ram Niwas Goel was convicted by the Delhi court on October 11 for “trespassing and voluntarily causing hurt” after he and his supporters raided Manish Ghai’s house in Vivek Vihar on Feb 6, 2015, a day before Delhi Assembly polls.

The court’s ruling stated that Ram Niwas Goel and other accused – Hitesh Khanna, Atul Gupta, and Balbir Singh – are convicted of an offence under section 448 (house trespassing) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the AAP MLA’s son Sumit Goel is additionally convicted of forcefully entering the house of Manish Ghai and causing hurt.

An FIR was registered against Ram Niwas Goel following a complaint by Manish Ghai who alleged that the AAP’s Shahdara MLA and his supporters raided one of his houses in Vivek Vihar, just a day before Delhi went to polls in 2015.

A year later, Ram Niwas Goel was charge-sheeted by the Delhi Police for allegedly rioting and causing hurt at the house of the realtor. The charge sheet also named seven other people who were accompanying Ram Niwas Goel during the incident.

According to the complaint filed against Ram Niwas Goel, the AAP MLA had raided the local builder’s residence, accusing him of stashing liquor, blankets and other stuff for distribution ahead of the polls.

“As per the complainant, some laborers were staying at a house that was owned by him. He received a call from one of them at about 9.30 pm on February 6, 2015, about Goel and his associates forcibly entering the building and damaging the property,” police said.

Ram Niwas Goel, had, however, refuted the allegations. The AAP leader was on October 11 convicted in the rioting case and sentenced to six months in jail by a Delhi court on Friday.
