Minor relief for those getting married but only 100 people can attend wedding
In a minor relief for people who have weddings are slated for this week, they can go ahead with the wedding functions but only if they follow certain stringent rules and regulations.
In a partial modification of the circular dated March 13, the Commissioner, BBMP has now allowed weddings to take place provided they follow certain rules.
According to the new circular, all wedding functions pre-booked in marriage halls, hotels, party places, etc. prior to the issue of the circular dated March 13 shall be allowed to be conducted subject to the condition that the gathering in the function does not exceed 100 people.
The authorities took this decision because of the difficulties in rescheduling and cancelling the events immediately. But the owners/management of these places have to maintain high standards of sanitation and hygiene by periodically cleaning using 100 per cent sodium hypochlorite solution or any other effective disinfectant for surfaces, floors and exposed areas which are likely to be touched by the attendees.
Furthermore, they will also need to be alert for those who are sick and still attend the functions. The circular stated that any person with symptoms of cough, cold, fever, etc. are to be immediately asked to leave the wedding.
However, until further orders are issued, no fresh bookings of any place for a wedding will be permitted.
