Megastar Chiranjeevi to make his digital debut in web series by Allu Aravind
With online streaming platforms becoming increasingly popular among the audiences, many stars down South are taking up projects that are made for the digital space.
According to the latest reports, Megastar Chiranjeevi, has agreed to play the lead in a web series, which will be produced by Allu Arjun's father Allu Aravind, under their home banner Geetha Arts. The series will be aired on Allu Aravind's OTT platform, Aha, which is quite popular among the Telugu speaking fraternity.
Aha, is currently streaming films produced by Geetha Arts and is in the process of acquiring new content. A source close to the production house said, "It's true that talks are on with Chiranjeevi for a web series. However, the project will get finalised only after the lockdown. It is too early to talk about it." The director of the series is yet to be known.
We also hear that the series will have strong content and will be made on a mammoth budget. In fact, in one of Chiranjeevi's earlier interviews, he had expressed his wish to explore new platforms.
Chiranjeevi might work on this project after completing the shoot of his feature film Acharya.
Directed by Koratala Siva, Acharya is touted to be a commercial pot-boiler with a social message. Kajal Aggarwal, who had earlier worked with Chiranjeevi in Khaidi No 150, has been roped in to play the female lead in the film.
Recently, there were speculations that Bollywood actor Salman Khan will be a part of the film. However, it was denied as baseless rumors. The film is produced by Niranjan Reddy and Ram Charan under Matinee Entertainment and Konidela Production Company banners, respectively.
