Madras HC asks govt to provide students with eggs, ration and sanitary pads during lockdown
In a major relief for many students in Tamil Nadu, the Madras High Court has asked the state government to distribute eggs and sanitary napkins to schoolchildren who were missing the facilities as schools were shut during the lockdown.
The court has said that the parents of the children can come and collect the things from school for their children.
The noon meal scheme provided by the government schools has been helping children from the poor section to provide them with nutritious meals, but with the Covid-19 crisis, children have not able to access the meal.
Now the government will be providing the children with eggs in the noon meal scheme, which will be given along with dry rations during the lockdown. The process will continue till schools are reopened.
