Lion King box office collection: Disney film crosses Rs 150 crore

Despite the mixed to negative reviews, Disney’s Lion King crossed the Rs 150 crore mark at the Indian box office. The film earned Rs 6 crore in its fourth weekend, bringing its total to Rs 150.09 crore. The gross earnings of the film stand at Rs 178 crore.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures on Monday. He wrote than the film crossed the Rs 150 crore milestone on its 24th day of release. The Lion King is the second highest-grossing film in India, just behind Avengers Endgame in 2019, which made over Rs 400 crore. Lion King made over 1.3 billion dollars worldwide.

Kamal Haasan’s plays a role of 90 year old in Shankar’s Indian 2

Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan is presently busy with the shooting of his upcoming film, Indian 2 with director Shankar. As the shooting is underway, news about Kamal Haasan’s role has trickled in. Stunt choreographer Peter Hein, in an interview, revealed an interesting detail about the film.

Reportedly, Kamal Haasan will essay the role of a nonagenarian in Indian 2. In an interview to an entertainment portal, Peter Hein, who worked in the film, disclosed, “Being a perfectionist, Kamal sir wants the action episode to be lively and his body language is perfect for a ninety-year-old.”

Kamal Haasan played an octogenarian in Indian, which released in 1996. Going by these reports, the story of Indian 2 is set approximately 10 years after Kamal Haasan’s character fled from India in the prequel.

The latest update is that the makers have planned an elaborate stunt sequence in Bhopal. Lyca Productions have decided to shell out a huge sum of Rs 40 crore for this and has appointed Peter Hein to oversee the stunts. This particular stunt sequence will include nearly 2000 junior artists.

Meanwhile, it has been rumored that Anil Kapoor has been roped in as the antagonist in Shankar’s Indian 2. A couple of weeks ago, a photo of Anil and Shankar engrossed in deep discussion went viral on social media which sparked rumors.

Indian 2 boasts a stellar cast including Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet, Siddharth, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Bobby Simhaa and Vidyut Jammwal.

The trailer of Bigil, starring Vijay, has just hit the web. Directed by Atlee, the film is a sports drama, which revolves around the women’s football team that has been coached by Vijay’s character. Nayanthara plays a crucial role in the film. The first look, songs, and posters of the film created quite a hype.

Vijay is seen in two avatars in the film, one as a young man sporting a jersey with the name ‘Michael’ written on it, who later coaches the girls team, and the other as Rayappan, who seems to be a local don. Michael is also known as Bigil. The trailer is interspersed with several shots of girls training on the pitch, as well as the anger and resentment towards Michael off the pitch. The older don has some whistle-worthy lines as well.
