J&K has second-highest COVID-19 testing rate in India, says Rohit Kansal
Principal Secretary Planning and Information, Jammu and Kashmir, Rohit Kansal on Wednesday said that the testing rate in Jammu and Kashmir is 703 per million, second highest in India.
So far, the Union Territory has reported 380 COVID-19 positive cases of which 294 are active cases--256 in Kashmir, 38 in Jammu, Kansal informed.
"The testing rate in Jammu and Kashmir is 703 per million, 2nd highest in India; bracing up to 1000 test in four ICMR accredited labs in UT; this has decreased the doubling rate of infections," said Kansal.
Jammu and Kashmir will launch Swasthya Nidhi COVID-19 Health Audit App for 100 per cent surveillance. The pilot project has already started in Jammu District.
More than 6.5 lakh users have installed Aarogya Setu App in Jammu and Kashmir. The Union Territory is amongst first in the country to be alert to the problem but no room for complacency, he added.
