Jaya Bachchan gives Zero Hour notice to discuss conspiracy to defame Bollywood
Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan has given Zero Hour notice in Rajya Sabha over an 'alleged conspiracy to defame the film industry'.
Amid the raging controversy of Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide and the subsequent drug links case against his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, Jaya Bachchan, a veteran actor and Rajya Sabha MP has given a Zero Hour notice to discuss the issue of the film industry being defamed.
MPs can raise issues of critical importance in the Zero Hour subject to approval by the Speaker. On the second day of the Monsoon Session in Parliament, MP Jaya Bachchan has sought to raise the issue of an alleged “conspiracy to defame the film industry”.
On Monday, BJP MP Ravi Kishan raised the issue in Lok Sabha and said the drug menace has affected Bollywood. Ravi Kishan asked the government to take strict action against those involved in drug trafficking.
Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Kishan said drugs come into India from China and Pakistan and there is a conspiracy by the neighboring countries to destroy the youth here.
The discussions on Bollywood in Parliament comes even as the NCB is probing the drug angle in actor Sushant Singh Rajput death case. The agency has arrested several persons including Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik and Sushant's house manager.
