Jal Shakti minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat tests positive for Covid-19
Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has tested positive for coronavirus and has been hospitalised for treatment. The Union Minister took to Twitter to inform about his health and said he got himself tested for the novel virus on getting some symptoms and his test results came positive. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat also requested all those who have come in contact with him recently to isolate themselves and get themselves tested. "On getting some symptoms, I got the corona test done and my report came back positive. I am hospitalised on the advice of doctors. I request that those who have come in contact with me in the last days, isolate themselves and get themselves examined. May all of you be healthy and take care of yourself," Shekhawat tweeted.

Gajendra Singh Shekhawat is the fifth Union minister to have tested positive for coronavirus. On August 8, Arjun Ram Meghnwal, Union Minister of State in Ministry of Water Resources, had tested positive for the virus. He was recently discharged after recovery. Home Minister Amit Shah was also discharged from Gurugram's Medanta Hospital recently after recovering from the novel coronavirus. Amit Shah tested positive on August 2. However, Amit Shah was admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi on Tuesday. Union Ministers Kailash Chaudhary and Dharmendra Pradhan have also been infected by coronavirus in the recent past.
