IPL 2020 : CSK Dwayne Bravo ruled out with groin injury
Chennai Super Kings have suffered another massive setback as star all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has been ruled out of the remainder of the IPL 2020 season due to a groin injury. Bravo picked up the injury during Chennai Super Kings' defeat to Delhi Capitals on October 17. Bravo was not part of the playing XI when CSK took on Rajasthan Royals in a crunch encounter in Abu Dhabi on Monday.
Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirmed that Bravo has suffered a right groin injury and the West Indies all-rounder will head back home in a couple of days.
Dwayne Bravo had missed the initial stages of the IPL 2020 with injury concerns after his successful Caribbean Premier League campaign with the Trinbago Knight Riders. Bravo made his first appearance for CSK against Sunrisers Hyderabad on October 2.
Dwayne Bravo leaves the team after having played only 6 matches for CSK in IPL 2020. The all-rounder managed just 7 runs and picked up 6 wickets during his stint with the former champions this season.
Bravo's absence was felt in the game against Delhi Capitals as CSK missed their death-bowling specialist when the opposition needed 17 runs in the final over. Dhoni went to Ravindra Jadeja but the move backfired as Axar Patel got DC past the finish line with 3 sixes against the left-arm spinner.
Chennai Super Kings have been hurt by injury concerns and pull-outs. Even before the season started, they were dealt with huge blows as Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh pulled out of the tournament due to personal reasons. CSK did not opt for replacements for either of the two superstar players.
