Tamil Nadu CM meets, lauds Chennai techie Shanmuga Subramanian
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami met and congralulated Shanumuga Subramanian, the young techie who spotted debris from the Chandrayaan-2 mission's lander, here on Wednesday morning.
Shanmuga Subramanian, 33, was catapulated to international was captulted to international fame on Tuesday morning,when Nasa released a map of the vikram lander’s debris and credited him with making the first positive identification of debris.
India's space agency Isro later said it had already located the Vikram lander.
On September 9, a couple of days after Vikram went incommunicado during the final stages of the Chandrayaan-2 mission, Isro said its orbiter had found the lander.
Nasa's images, released on December 3, show changes to the lunar surface and map both debris and soil disturbances.
Nasa thanked and congratulated Shanmuga Subramanian in an e-mail after it had put out a statement about the photos.
The young techie, who is app developer and mechanical engineer, works for a Chennai IT firm.
