India's coronavirus tally crosses 68-lakh mark with spike of 78,524 new infections
The novel coronavirus cases in India has surged to 68 lakh with a spike of 78,524 new cases, as revealed by the Union health ministry Thursday morning. There are a total of 68,35,656 positive cases in the country as of now.
India also recorded 971 deaths, taking the national toll to over 1.05 lakh at 1,05,526.
As of Thursday, there are a total of 9,02,425 active cases and 58,27,705 people who have been cured and discharged.
On Wednesday, Maharashtra's coronavirus tally rose to 14,80,489 with 14,578 fresh cases. With 355 new fatalities being reported, the death toll in the state reached 39,072, a state health official said.
Meanwhile, Delhi reported 2,871 new coronavirus cases and 35 deaths on Wednesday, according to the daily health bulletin.
