India records 43,000 fresh coronavirus cases, Covid-19 tally crosses 93 lakh

India has recorded 43,082 fresh coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, taking India’s total coronavirus case count to 93,09,788. Apart from the fresh Covid-19 cases, the death toll has also gone up by 492.

With the latest spike, a total of 1,35,715 people have died in India so far. 39,379 were discharged after treatment in the past 24 hours.

Among the 93 lakh coronavirus cases in total, the number of active cases in India is at 4,55,555 while the total number of discharged cases is at 87,18,517.

Meanwhile, Delhi recorded a decline in Covid-19 deaths for the second consecutive day on Thursday with another 91 people succumbing to the disease and 5,475 fresh cases being detected. Delhi government is now considering bringing back the night curfew as a measure to check the spread of coronavirus in the national capital.

On Thursday, Mumbai reported 1,147 fresh coronavirus cases and 548 recoveries. Mumbai’s Covid-19 death toll rose by 16, taking the total deaths to 10,739 in the city.

Mumbai now has 2,79,737 coronavirus cases, including 2,54,152 recoveries and 11,697 active cases.
