Income-Tax department raids Master producer Lalith Kumar's properties
Thalapathy Vijay's upcoming film Master has been making headlines for the past couple of weeks. This time, the film is back in the news as the Income-Tax department has conducted raids at Master co-producer Lalith Kumar's house and office properties in Chennai.
The I-T search was in connection with Master's pre-release business. Reportedly, the film made a pre-release business of Rs 220 crore, out of which Lalith Kumar has gotten a share of Rs 50 crore. The officials landed at Lalith Kumar's house yesterday (March 10) evening and is said to continue today (March 11) as well.
No official statement has been released regarding the I-T raid. As of now, the officials haven't confiscated anything from Lalith Kumar's house and office spaces in Chennai.
A few weeks ago, the I-T officials went all the way to Neyveli to the set of Master to conduct an enquiry with actor Vijay in connection to Bigil's box office collection. They also conducted a search at Vijay's properties, AGS Enterprises and financier Anbu Chezhiyan's house. The raid went on for about 36 hours at Vijay's house.
Master's audio launch is slated to happen on March 15 at The Leela Palace in Chennai. The audio launch will be aired on Sun Television from 6:30 PM this Sunday.
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Master features Vijay, Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan, Andrea Jeremiah, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj and Arjun Das in lead roles. On March 10, the second single 'Vaathi Coming' released to positive responses from the audience.
