I-T report shows Vijay's salary: He received Rs 50 crore for Bigil and Rs 80 crore for Master
Thalapathy Vijay is one of the leading stars in Kollywood. In February, the Income Tax officials raided his properties in Chennai in connection with the search at Bigil producer's AGS Enterprises and financier Anbu Cheziyan's office. Recently, the I-T officials visited Vijay's house again and concluded the search operation.
After checking his accounts, the I-T sleuths found out the remuneration he received for his two films, Bigil and Master. The statement also reveals that Vijay has paid taxes for the salaries he received for both films. While this brings a huge relief to the actor, the investigation officials stated that he received a whopping Rs 50 crore for Bigil and Rs 80 crore for his upcoming flick, Master.
A senior official from the I-T department told The Times of India, "We found that the actor has shown a salary of Rs 50 crore from Bigil, which was a box office hit, and Rs 80 crore from Master, which is yet to be released. We found that the actor paid taxes for the salaries received for both movies and we have no questions on this."
The official added that they have completed the search and will begin examining the documents related to the three people. Reportedly, they have doubts over the investments that the actor and his family have made in the past.
"We have started examining the documents and accounts of the actor and his family members. There are questionable investments on which tax will be raised," the official told the daily.
Back in February, the I-T officials confiscated Rs 77 crore unaccounted cash from financier Anbu Cheziyan's house. The raid was conducted based on the box office collection of Bigil, which was touted to be Rs 300 crore.
