Gandhi Jayanti 2020: Anand Mahindra pays tribute to Mahatma Gandhi

Anand Mahindra remembered Mahatma Gandhi in a post on Twitter on October 2 and shared a picture of him behind the Charkha Wheel. October 2 is Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday and is celebrated as Gandhi Jayanti. “I pray that no matter how affluent, powerful or influential a nation we become, we never forget that people around the world respect India most because of a man who wore only a loincloth... #GandhiJayanti2020,” Anand Mahindra said in his tweet. Born as Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi on October 2, 1869, in Gujarat’s Porbandar, Mahatma Gandhi was a lawyer, politician, social activist and writer, who led the independence movement against British rule. He was fondly known as the Father of The Nation. Apart from Mahatma Gandhi, it is Lal Bahadur Shastri’s birth anniversary as well and Anand Mahindra shared a post for the former Prime Minister also. “India has truly been blessed with leaders who taught us lessons that will guide us over centuries. This man showed us that you didn’t have to be tall, overbearing or shout loudly in order to be a towering personality or to be at the centre of things... #LalBahadurShastriJayanti,” Anand Mahindra shared in a post.
