Gamanam new poster out: Nithya Menen plays Carnatic singer Shailaputri Devi

After introducing Shriya Saran's look in Gamanam, actor Sharwanand took to Twitter to introduce Nithya Menen's character from the film. Acctording to the poster, Nithya will be seen as a Carnatic singer named Shailaputri Devi in director Sujana Rao's upcoming film.

While Shriya plays a speech-impaired person in Gamanam, Nithya will be seen as a singer. In the poster, Nithya Menen can be seen wearing a yellow saree with green embroidered blouse while performing a Carnatic song on a stage. Sharing the poster, Sharwanand wrote, "Introducing @MenenNithya as singer #ShailaputriDevi from #GAMANAM. Best wishes to @gnanashekarvs and the entire team (sic)."

According to the press statement, Nithya Menen will be making a special appearance in the film. "There is divinity all through and Nithya Menen appears in an orthodox role sporting a pleasant smile on her face," the statement read. A couple of days ago, Gamanam's first-look poster featuring Shriya Saran was unveiled by the makers. She will be seen in a de-glamourous and traditional look in the film.

In the poster, she can be seen clad in a red saree. Ganan Shekhar will be cranking the camera and will also be bankrolling this venture. Gamanam, as reported earlier, is based on a real-life incident. The film is a pan-Indian entertainer, which will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi languages.
