Ex-Andhra Pradesh minister Kollu Ravindra arrested in YSRCP leader's murder case
Former Andhra Pradesh minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Kollu Ravindra on Friday was arrested in the murder case of former market yard chairman and YSRCP leader M Bhaskar Rao. Ravindra is a close associate of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu
Bhaskar Rao, close to Andhra Pradesh's Information Minister Perni Nani, was murdered on Monday (June 29) by two assailants in the Machlipatanam area of Krishna district. It is alleged that the YSRCP leader M Bhaskar Rao was stabbed with a cyanide-laced knife which led to his immediate death.
Three accused have been arrested in the case.
Bhaskar Rao's family had alleged Kollu Ravindra's role behind the murder. They alleged that they were being harassed and victimized intentionally.
Strongly condemning the arrest of Kollu Ravindra, Chandrababu Naidu said that arresting him without even preliminary investigation is an act of vendetta politics by the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) and worst than 'Emergency'.
"It was unprecedented that so many leaders are being put in jail like this. The YSRCP has adopted a vengeful attitude towards BCs with wrongful cases being filed against Atchannaidu, Ayyannapatrudu, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, and Kollu Ravindra being the examples. Everyone must condemn these arrests that are being committed with an intent to take revenge," said Chandrababu Naidu.
Chandrababu Naidu also made a phone call to Kollu Ravindra's family. He spoke to Ravindra's wife and his father-in-law Narsimha Rao, assuring them of his moral support.
